Here is the dope free album from The Kid Daytona titled "The Interlude". The free album is so good that I can't wait for the full length album to come, and that's a rare feeling for me and hip hop these days for someone who doesn't even have an official album out... no offense to hip hop...i'm just sayin'.
Here's a dope new video from my man Exile. It's the latest from the AM/FM remix album. He's directing and starring in this one. It's like my man's creativity doesn't stop!
This song by French artist Jacquline Taieb was just abot the only thing to get me moving on this rainy, dreary Brooklyn morning.
Originally from Tunisia, Jacquline Taieb gained notoriety as a pop and yé-yé singer in France in the 1960s. This song, Le coeur au bout des doigts, was recorded in 1968 and is off an EP of the same name. Enjoy!

Recently I was put on to The Sweet Vandals from Madrid. Think Sharon Jones, meets Joplin, with a Spanish twist. This song, Beautiful, is off of their first self-titled album, released in 2007 on Unique Records.
Here's a video from artists Full Crate and Mar of their song I Said. Full Crate is the producer and Mar is on vocals. This was one of my favorite tracks of the year. Check the interview with Full Crate at Spinetv.
Check the new The Kid Daytona ablum "The Interlude". It's been around for a minute but it's real dope hip hop. Download the whole album here. Don't sleep.
Here's a link to The Sound of Strangers EP by UK hip hop artist Ghostpoet. It's been out for a while but just in case you missed it you can grab it here for free.
Thanks to cousin Phil for puttin me up on this one. It's good to see another generation of MC's coming up on Jazzy beats. In an interview Kendrick says he grew up with his parents listening to Tupac, man that made me feel old.
Here's another video from Havana Cultura about the hip hop duo Obsession. It gives a real good look at their neighborhood Regla in Havana. Check out some of their music here.
Here's another track from the singer Danay's latest EP of improvisational jazz Cuban style. These videos give a good glimpse not only at the talent of the singer Danay, but depth of soul and jazz roots in this amazing band of Cuban musicians. My favorite part about Danay though is that she's one of the illest MC's i've heard from Cuba in a while and is part of the hip hop group Los Aldeanos. Look out for the EP on Brownswood Recordings and her full length studio album in the near future. For now you can cop the EP here.
Take a trip to Cuba with Danay Suarez and check her performing the song Guajira live. This song Guajira is off her new EP from the Brownswood Recordings Havana Cultura sessions. You can download the track here.
Fashawn from the Dirty Science crew has a new video from the Grizzly City 3 Mixtape. Young boy is holdin' it down for the left most state right now, puttin it down from Fresno in the central valley.
More beautiful sample based soul music from Los Angeles. This sista Tokimonsta is doin her thang, don't sleep... but that's not her in the video. Enjoy...

I was recently blessed with an opportunity to see my man Miguel Atwood-Ferguson perform live in downtown Los Angeles the other day. The show was outdoors and he went on around dusk. A packed crowd sat in the shadows of one of LA's skyscrapers and watched the blue and grays of the smog filled sky turned orange, laveder then purple while listening to Miguel's orchestral soundtrack. While there I picked up a copy of "Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Unreleased Vol. 1". Here's one of the many gems:
